LITTLE SEISMIC DANCE COMPANY AUDITION
APRIL 29th, 4-6PM, @ ODC, Argyle Studio
little seismic dance company director, Katie Faulkner, is seeking a diverse ensemble of 4-5 dancers for a project connected to the 2017 San Francisco Trolley Dances. Dancers must have a high level of modern/contemporary dance training, partnering skills, excellent musicality, and the ability/willingness to contribute creatively in process. Dancers must also be comfortable performing outside on concrete or similar surfaces (Location TBD). Rehearsals and performances are paid.
To participate in this project, availability for the following dates/times is required:
Sundays, June 4 – July 30 (Time TBD – all in San Francisco)
On-site rehearsals in late September/October TBD
Friday, June 16 (Time/Location TBD) - Photo Shoot
Sat., Oct. 14, 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM - Dress Rehearsal
Friday, Oct. 20, 10 AM - 3:30 PM - Kids Performance
Sat., Oct. 21 - Sun., Oct. 22, 10 AM – 7:30 PM - 6 performances/day

PERFORMANCE: DEEP SOUTH with ALEX KETLEY'S THE FOUNDRY
JUNE 1-2; WALKING DISTANCE DANCE FESTIVAL
ODC Theater, San Francisco
The Foundry's Alex Ketley presents the San Francisco premiere of Deep South, with local dancers Manuelito Biag, Katie Faulkner, Maurya Kerr, and Aline Wachsmuth, among others. Researched in collaboration with NYC-based choreographer Miguel Gutierrez, Deep South is the final work in a trilogy exploring what dance and performance mean to the lives of people in rural parts of the United States.
WORKSHOP: INNER/OUTER INQUIRY: CREATIVE LISTENERSHIP
co-taught by Kara Davis + Katie Faulkner
June 5-8, 10 AM - 4 PM; Studio 200, San Francisco
Combining somatics, Laban/Bartenieff Movement Analysis, improvisation, composition and other strategies, Kara Davis and Katie Faulkner will lead a 5-day workshop offering movement practices intended to disrupt habitu tendencies, allow new creativity to emerge, and deepen creative connection with others. WORKSHOP: SOLO CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP INTENSIVE
Taught by KATIE FAULKNER
June 26-30, 12:30-4:30; ODC, San Francisco
This choreography workshop is designed for anyone interested in practicing making dances. Particular emphasis will be placed on solo explorations designed to meet all level of dance-maker. All participants will be encouraged to reflect on their current interests, instincts, habits, and curiosities and will be guided through processes for generating material that feel specific to personal goals. Rich and varied opportunities for reflection and feedback will be woven throughout the process as will approaches to intuitive working that are playful, messy, rigorous and specific.
